The interior colour scheme of white, blue and turquoise picks up the hues of the shore from outside." By travel writer SueTanya McChorgh.

"To a sleepy fishing village called Treasure Beach. There are no high-rise hotels, all-inclusive packages, or kitschy souvenir shops in this southwest part of Jamaica. Instead, what you’ll find are colourful cottages shrouded in bougainvillea, roadside stands serving steaming pumpkin soup, and fishermen docking their brightly coloured canoes on six miles of coral and sand." By Vogue's Kristin Braswell.
The Calabash International Literary Festival is famous for its poetry and prose.

"The waves against the shore, the gusto of the aspiring poets who impulsively line up for open mic, a bookshop well stocked with the works of authors throughout the Caribbean, the organic ambiance of the venue, Jakes in Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth, and of course the authentic Jamaican menu at Jack Sprat's bar and restaurant. Although all tantalising, they were barely half of the attractions for the diverse audience at this year's staging."

Too good to be true? Not at all," says the Lonely Planet guide.
